Helping Children and Adults Achieve Optimal Health With Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
About
Finding the Missing Link
Orofacial Myology is a type of non-invasive physical therapy designed for the tongue, cheeks, lips and facial muscles. During therapy, we will perform repetitive movements to retrain your orofacial muscles to become more reflexive and habitual, thus developing new patterns and muscle memory. During our initial evaluation, you will receive a personal therapy program tailored to your needs. Newly established habits will result in positive behaviors in the future. After completing your Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, your sleeping habits improve, you begin chewing and swallowing effectively, and your nasal breathing becomes constant. Simply, OMT teaches you to breathe through your nose and to keep your tongue in it’s proper position, on the palate. By doing so, you improve the oxygen levels to your brain and body by opening the airway at the back of the throat. This results in you feeling healthy and rested.
I have a passion for encouraging others and helping both adults and children live their best lives! After completing advanced training in Orofacial Myology, I am continuing my passions in Oral Health as owner of Boulder Myo. I am a Practitioner with Myo Munchee, and love having the munchee protocols as part of my practice. I have been a Registered Dental Hygienist for over 23 years, completing my undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree at Texas A&M University and my Bachelor of Dental Hygiene degree at Texas A&M Caruth School of Dental Hygiene. Over the years, I specialized in Pediatrics and love working with children of all ages and needs.
I am happily married to my husband, Bryan, and we have three amazing boys, 21, 18 and 15 years. We enjoy the beauty both Boulder and Colorado has to offer including camping, offroading, skiing, and finding delicious food and drinks! I look forward to hearing from you and together we can create a pathway to better health.
